Simultaneous Intra- and Extrapulmonary

چکیده
Pulmonary sequestration has attracted considerable attention in recent years. Many papers reporting typical cases have appeared in the literature. Repetition of material already extensively reported will not be attempted (Bariety and Coury, 1947; Pryce, Sellors and Blair, 1947; Bruwer, Clagett and McDonald, 1950,1954; Kergin, 1952; Santy, Berard, Gaby and Huu (1952); Boyd, 1953; Hertzog, Toty, Personne and Gilbert, 1953; Razemon, Houcke and Razemon, 1953; Monod, 1954; Boyden, 1955, 1958; Bruwer, 1955; Pryce, 1946; Smith, 19,56; Prochaizka and Steinhart, 1957). The case described here is a very rare form of pulmonary sequestration, which justifies its publication. Case Report

Familial pulmonary veno-occlusive disease: a case report.
A case of pulmonary veno-occlusive disease in a male infant who died at the age of 3 months is presented. Both intra- and extrapulmonary veins were involved. Two years earlier a brother had died of the same disease at the age of 8 weeks, but, in that case, the disease was restricted to the intrapulmonary veins. It is suggested that the disease may have been caused by a viral infection, the moth...
متن کاملRapid Differential Diagnosis between Extrapulmonary Tuberculosis and Focal Complications of Brucellosis Using a Multiplex Real-Time PCR Assay
BACKGROUND Arduous to differ clinically, extrapulmonary tuberculosis and focal complications of brucellosis remain important causes of morbidity and mortality in many countries. We developed and applied a multiplex real-time PCR assay (M RT-PCR) for the simultaneous detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex and Brucella spp. METHODOLOGY Conventional microbiological techniques and M RT-P...
متن کاملExtrapulmonary Aspergillus infection in patients with CARD9 deficiency.
Invasive pulmonary aspergillosis is a life-threatening mycosis that only affects patients with immunosuppression, chemotherapy-induced neutropenia, transplantation, or congenital immunodeficiency. We studied the clinical, genetic, histological, and immunological features of 2 unrelated patients without known immunodeficiency who developed extrapulmonary invasive aspergillosis at the ages of 8 a...
متن کاملEffects of pressure support and pressure-controlled ventilation on lung damage in a model of mild extrapulmonary acute lung injury with intra-abdominal hypertension
Intra-abdominal hypertension (IAH) may co-occur with the acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), with significant impact on morbidity and mortality. Lung-protective controlled mechanical ventilation with low tidal volume and positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) has been recommended in ARDS. However, mechanical ventilation with spontaneous breathing activity may be beneficial to lung func...
متن کاملEn Plaque Tuberculoma: a Case Report
In Korea, tuberculosis (TB) remains a serious public health problem and reported TB cases have not significantly decreased over the last decade (1). Tuberculosis involving the central nervous system (CNS) is the most significant type of extrapulmonary tuberculosis because of its high mortality rate and possible morbidity of neurologic sequelae. CNS tuberculosis can manifest in a variable forms,...
